Ruby Aldridge Ruby Aldridge

My name is…

Ruby Aldridge.

I live in…

New York City

I get high from…

making eye contact with a stranger for slightly too long.

The concept behind this playlist is…

I like running to music and normally it's on the heavier side- something with a pulse- so basically it's - Pretend you are really fast, push yourself and try to not stop- though I also think you could listen to this whenever you want and hope you do :)

My workout routine consists of…

It's been pretty non-existent. A few weeks I got to the point- mentally- where I felt pretty stuck- I decided I really had to get outside and wanted to start moving my body again. It's been a stagnant year. I did a quick google search and turns out they have been doing virtual races online . I signed up for a half so now I have a little bit of structure. A routine and deadline really helps me. Im slowly getting back into it and feeling how good it feels not only for my body to get out there and run, but for the mental, spiritual, physical aspects of it as well- all as a whole. Im excited about it.

My favorite place to run…

I absolutely love running up and crossing over the Williamsburg Bridge, or any bridge really.  It feels epic and challenging and beautiful. I love running the lower half of city down and around to the west side. And I used to really love meeting up with friends at East River track and doing workouts there. Feeling like your extremely fast with the bounce of the track under your feet even if in actuality you’re not running that fast at all- really very fun.

What I think about when I run…

I focus on my breath. Listen to music. Sometimes or most times im just trying to relax a bit and get to that next mile.  I don’t have deep thoughts when I run-most likely part of why I enjoy it so much.

The best book I’ve ever read…

I don’t read a lot. I have a theory that one day I’ll be an avid reader and I really hope that’s true. The last book I read and loved was The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Murakami. It took me ages to read. And I enjoyed every page of it.

My favorite thing to eat is…

I wish this wasn’t my answer but currently it’s pizza. SCARS Sicilian size in particular.

My fav tv shows currently are:

I’m currently on episode 5 of Adam Curtis new docuseries ‘ CANT GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD’ and I have to pause every few moments to really grasp what’s going on. It’s a lot. -I also just really enjoy watching the bachelor and great British Baking show.

My most treasured possession is…

my dads art- in anyway shape or form.

Last time I was embarrassed was…

when you asked me the last book I read.

The most important thing I’ve learned in life so far is…

be kind to people, to yourself and remember it’s all temporary.

When we die…

Kiss the sky and say goodbye xx

Cedric Bixler-Zava Cedric Bixler-Zava

My name is…

Cedric Bixler aka The Latin Danzig aka Forehead Energy Drink

I live in…

The lost city of assholes and I absolutely love it.

I get high from…

The love my kids and wife show me everyday and a little bit of alien labs and working on new music.

The concept behind this playlist is…

The Spirit of Play that adulthood squashes / The inability to express sadness in a direct way.

My workout routine consists of…

running around for an hour and skating.

My favorite place to run…

Is El Paso because of the climate. It’s like swinging 4 bats in the most dry oppressive heat and I like it cuz it reminds me of getting ready for a tour. For now I jog in my neighborhood. It’s very quiet and suburban with hills that kick my ass.

What I think about when I run…

I think about performing when I run. I think of vocal melodies. I think of how winded I’ll be on stage if I don’t make the full hour. I try and push harder every time that thought crosses my mind. I think of running from the police for skateboarding as a kid.

The best book I’ve ever read…

1.Confederacy of Dunces by JohnKennedy Toole
2.Revolt of the cockroach People by Oscar Zeta Acosta (the Samoan from fear and loathing.... he’s actually Chicano)
Ubik by Phillip K Dick.

My favorite thing to eat is…

Ethiopian food and Mexican food.

My fav tv shows currently are:

I May Destroy You
We are Who We are
The Vow
The Reagans
Scientology the Aftermath

My most treasured possession is…

My tascam 6 track tape recorder.

Last time I was embarrassed was…

When I ate shit and tripped over this big obvious monitor on stage during an antimasque set at Coachella.

The most important thing I’ve learned in life so far is…

to let the small shit go and to be the person I needed as a kid to my twins. Generational trauma is fucking real and if we aren’t careful, we become the very thing that we hated about the world.

When we die…

When we die…it will all make sense, and then we’ll be given the choice to come back but that means forgetting
I don’t know that I have much interest in being remembered at all.
