Not many people know this, but Courtney is something of a gourmet. Did I say gourmet? I meant incurable candy fiend. The woman is literally living on confectionery.
When we hit her up for a recipe for this issue’s edition of Eat It, she winked and said, ‘No problem. Here’s a simple dish that’s great to bring to a party, but just as fun to eat alone.’ Then she tied on an apron, got Kevin to crack her back, and wrote a list of all the different types of candy she likes. Were we expecting a recipe for Great Grandma Dauwalter’s famous Turkey Meatloaf? No. Did we wonder if maybe Courtney would teach us how to cook the perfect Turducken for two? Of course not. But did we think she was going to dump enough candy to give a horse diabetes into a bowl and call it a ‘Salad’? Well, yeah, to be honest, we did. ‘My Candy Salad can be easily modified,’ said Courtney, ‘by simply adding or subtracting candy depending on your preference!’
So, here it is, Courtney’s Candy Salad.
