COURTNEY IS POSSESSED

This issue of POSSESSED—POSSESSED No. 56—is special for two reasons. Firstly, it’s the Courtney Dauwalter issue, and that is massively special because, duh, Courtney Dauwalter. Everything in these pages, with the exception of the horoscope and letters to the editor, is dedicated to Courtney Dauwalter, so get ready for it. The second reason this issue is special is less obvious, depending on how you’re taking these words in. If you’re reading this on something wobbly and flat that looks like paper, you’ll already know that this issue is in print. In fact, it’s the first print issue of POSSESSED we’ve ever made. If you scored a copy, congratulations. Why not put it up to your face and breathe in the smell of success. Mmm... Smells good, don’t it?

If, however, these words are backlit and not wobbly at all, you’re reading it on the internet, which is still great because, again, it’s the Courtney Daulwalter issue, and you’re going to enjoy it (or else). You have to admit, though, a physical magazine would be pretty sweet. I suppose if you wanted to, you could print this issue out and read it, but that’d be a little bit sad. Anyway, this is the Courtney issue—in print—and we can’t believe it either.

Then we explain what ultrarunning is to yet another really dumb alien, we answer mail sent in by readers, and, last but by no means least, special guest Todd Francis reads your running stars. Good god. What an amazing and tactile (for some people) issue this is.
