Atom Willard Atom Willard

My name is….

Atom Willard

I live in…

Los Angeles, CA and Nashville, TN.

I get high from …

Playing live shows.

The concept behind this playlist is…

Pace. All songs are between 83-89 bpm, so hopefully you’ll find a spot that isn’t completely flat and you’ll push up a hill, never getting off the beat. It’s kinda fast but not all the songs are “up” so it’s you just gliding while Brittney belts it out.

My workout routine consists of …

Run 4-8mi 4 days a week.

Cycle 15-25mi 2 days a week.

Rest 1 day.

My favorite place to run …

I’ll always seek out some kind of water. Like there’s a beautiful lake to run around (12mi) in Madison, Wisconsin, and there’s countless riverside trails in Nashville—anything like that. But not the beach.

What I think about when I run …

If I’m not listening to a very BPM specific playlist (like this one) I listen to podcasts like "The Moth" or “This American Life” and I just go there, into the stories.

(I can’t listen to just any music because my drummer brain won’t allow me to be off the beat.)

My favorite thing to eat is…

Salad. But like every meal is a salad at my house, grilled salmon? Yep, put it over kale. Ground turkey? Over kale. Add brown rice, sun dried tomatoes.. you get the idea. It’s a big ass bowl.

A book that everyone should read is…

“Creative Quest” by Ahmir Khalib Thompson.

My fav tv shows currently are…

Last week tonight with John Oliver, Mare Of Easttown.

When times get tough I tell myself….

Someone somewhere has it way worse than me. Yes this sucks for me but holy shit it could be infinitely worse.

My most treasured possession is…

I have a snare drum that was gifted to me, totally unexpected and really super rad. It sounds AWESOME.

Last time I was embarrassed was…

Dropped and broke a bottle of wine at the store trying to “cocktail” it.

The most important thing I’ve learned in life so far is…

Treat everyone the way you want to be treated. Oh, and as soon as you think you’re at your limit you have like 25% more to give.

When we die…

You better have been nice.

Stic Stic

My name is…

Khnum Ibomu but please call me Stic, all my homies do.

I live in…

Southwest Atlanta with my brilliant, sexy wife of 27 years and our two phenomenal sons.

I get high from…

adventures of all kinds! satisfying my curiosity for learning and exploring new inspirations and making creative connections. Whatever I’m into - a new idea, a new practice,  a new project - I go hard in the paint!

The concept behind this playlist is…

FIT HOP!

I have written and produced two groundbreaking "fit hop" albums—THE WORKOUT and WORKOUT II—and I also executive produced and feature on a number of the songs on this fit hop release, Healthy Gangsta by our RBG FIT RECORDS artist Coach Nym.

My favorite place to run…

is forests. Put me on an open path with a canopy of trees and I’m in heaven.

What I think about when I run…

varies a lot. Sometimes I use my runs to multitask business phone calls, or read audiobooks, other times just as a positive release of stress. But probably most often my runs are just an excuse to get out the house, be in nature and play!

My workout routine consists of…

(currently) meditation, running, calisthenics, dumbbells, and I mix it up at times with elements of boxing and martial arts, qi gong and nature walks.

My favorite thing to eat is…

Ethiopian! The sour, spongy bread called injera is fermented —so it’s good for the gut and the teff grain it’s comprised of is naturally gluten free and packed with protein.   If I’m cooking at home my fav go to meal at the moment is probably pasta and marinara sauce, ground veg burger, with fresh rosemary from our small backyard garden.

A book that everyone should read is…

Man, with over 2,000 books in my personal collection (moving sucks), and being the ferocious reader that I am-this always a great and tough question….but today’s answer is….Born to Run by Christopher McDougal it was very inspiring to me when I first started running! I also would recommend The Power of Self Confidence by Brian Tracy. We also have an ongoing recommended booklist at our site  RBGFITCLUB.com (just click the booklist tab).

My fav tv shows currently are…

Godfather in Harlem, All American, and the Netflix series High on Hog.

When times get tough I tell myself….

”Overcomers find the medicine in all things!”

TM

My most treasured possession is…

my family.

Last time I was embarrassed was…

Easy…I pooped my pants on site at a film project I was directing. Squeezing out what I thought was a harmless fart, I felt that awkward little squirt of something more. In panic mode, like a goofy squirrel barely avoiding being splattered by oncoming traffic, I akwardly skipped off to the bathroom, like a little kid with a secret, and had to clean up and bid farewell to those boxers for ever! But to make matters worse, then I had to come back out of the bathroom, to a gauntlet of jokes from the crew— and finish the shoot - in full commando. Epic I tell ya!

The most important thing I’ve learned in life so far is…

mindfulness. It’s our greatest superpower and our biggest responsibility.

When we die…

our legacy lives on through what we have given while alive. How our time was spent, and what it was for, and who it was with, that’s what matters most.
