Phone It In is the department where we ask someone to send us some random candid pics, thereby giving you, the reader, a look into the private world of that person. For this issue’s Phone It In, we sent a shot list to—you’ll never believe it—world-famous ultra-athlete Scott Jurek.
Asking world-famous ultra-athlete Scott Jurek to send photos of his refrigerator and bedside table felt a bit weird. After all, he is Scott Jurek, and looking inside his fridge is like snooping in Superman’s medicine cabinet or something. It just felt wrong. But we asked, and Scott being Scott, he was perfectly fine with it. On the subject of Jurek’s refrigerator, it looks like they love hot sauce. I count three bottles of Tabasco, one bottle of Cholula, and various other containers that appear to be different types of hot sauce. I’m not trying to be funny—take a look. That’s a shitload of hot sauce, isn’t it? I guess they like hot sauce.
